HEAD CUSTODIAN

Head Custodian Location : Maintenance Department
Reports to : Custodial Supervisor and Warehouse Supervisor
Purpose : An employee in this class performs a variety of manual activities cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining the Carter Building, including Technology Department. The employee performs a variety of duties in accordance with established practices and cleaning schedules. Duties includes receiving and shipping from vendors daily and pulling custodial orders for custodians from all site locations. Qualifications :

- High school diploma or equivalency required
- Must hold valid NC Driver's License
- Custodial and warehouse experience preferred
- Ability to operate pallet jack, forklift, tractors and lawn equipment
- Working knowledge of Rowan-Salisbury Schools cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions
- Skills and knowledge in the use of custodial equipment used in routine cleaning
- Working knowledge and experience with Facility Tracker
- Basic knowledge and experience in loading and unloading trucks
- Cleaning and sanitizing of building daily and as needed
- Cleaning and sanitizing at other RSS sites as needed
- Prioritize and complete daily work tickets
- Ensure grounds are cleared of debris on a daily basis
- Check all fire extinguishers and exit and emergency lights for safety inspections
- Maintain and upkeep of custodial equipment
- Maintain custodial inventory and order supplies as necessary
- Log and track daily shipment receipts and maintain records
- Assist with organizing new custodial staff trainings
- Scrub and clean rest rooms, general cleaning, receiving and checking in shipments during shipping/receiving hours
- Pulling inventory and delivery orders for custodial supplies, parts and equipment
- Other duties as needed and directed
