High School Special Education Teacher

POSITION TITLE: High School Special Education Teacher 2026-2027 School Year

LOCATION: Glen Rose High School

SALARY RANGE: According to District Salary Schedule

LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: 10 months

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide students and/or special education students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to student ability levels. Work in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university


Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level


assigned (Special Education)


Teaching experience preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area (Special Education)


Knowledge of Admissions, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process


and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting process and implementation


General knowledge of curriculum and instruction


Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior


Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
