Position Goals

Job Description
• Assess and evaluate dental hygiene students' clinical skills during the following dental hygiene "process of care" procedures performed with their patients in the clinic:

• Review of Medical/Dental History
• Extra/intraoral Exam (Oral Cancer Screening, Gingival Exam, Occlusal Exam,
• Hard-Tissue Charting, Periodontal Charting, etc...)
• Plaque Control Procedures
• Treatment Planning
• Scaling and Root Planing
• Selective Polishing
• Fluoride Treatments
• Sealants
• Radiographic Interpretation

• Observe and provide feedback to students during clinical proficiencies on all dental hygiene skills.
• Exhibit knowledge of current technology in the practice of dental hygiene.
• Consult with students, fellow instructors and patients as needed in the instructional process.
• Demonstrate professionalism and follow all policies and procedures for the Dental Hygiene Program (Manual will be provided during training period).
• Attend and participate in calibration exercises/meetings for clinic instructors.
• Meet with Dental Programs Director and Clinic Supervisor to review program/department procedures.
• Observe dental hygiene clinical instructors during patient care to attain understanding of clinic and educational procedures.
• Follow accreditation guidelines and procedures as designated by the CODA and Dental Programs Director.
Ability to work directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socio economic backgrounds.


Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Current NJ RDH (Active) License
• Current CPR Certification
• Teaching Methodology Courses
