- As a Contract Specialist, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Determine milestones to administer assigned contracts.
- Evaluate post-award requests and determines appropriate action.
- Make final determinations on delivery schedule changes, waivers, deviations, mistakes in bid/offer protests, price revisions, premium payments, discrepancies, rejection of first article, substitution, etc.
- Administer contracts that have special handling provisions, specialized terms and conditions, unique items and a variety of contracting methods.
- Attend pre-award negotiations.
- Prepare solicitations for contract negotiations.
- Evaluate vendor submissions to bids.
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Tour of Duty: Flexible
- Security Requirements: Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access
- Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, where reciprocity cannot be applied; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.
- Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Exempt

- Defense Acquisition Workforce position. Must complete DoD certification and other requirements. See Addtl Info.
- Applying contracting principles, laws, statues, regulations and procedures applicable to pre-award and post-award actions sufficient to procure and administer contracts for a variety of goods and services.
- Understanding federal contract methods and contract types, which requires specialized knowledge of federal contract administration policy, procedures, techniques, and evaluation/control methods sufficient to coordinate and monitor prime and subcontractor performance on complex, long-term contracts.
- Using negotiation techniques to meet and deal with representatives of private sector and with government experts or managers in order to procure assigned products.
- Communicating through written communications and discussions with vendors/customers.
