Certified Medical Assistant - Family Medicine - Huntersville

Overview Novant Health Lakeside Family Physicians clinic is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population. Location: Lakeside Family Physicians, 14330 Oakhill Park Lane, Huntersville, NC 28078 Population: Family Medicine What You’ll Do Perform and document necessary preliminary exam needs on patients to include height, weight, pulse, blood pressure, and temperature. Ensure patient charts are complete. Interview patients to identify current medical needs and relevant patient history. Assist with examinations, treatments, and procedures within scope of practice. Administer medications as ordered by the clinician. Support DME and MRI authorizations. Immunization Administration: Administer immunizations as ordered, using appropriate site. Review immunization records and identify potential risks and side effects of immunizations ordered. Teamwork and Communication: Work within a team to achieve patient and team goals. Communicate professionally with co-workers, participate in regular team meetings, and contribute to process improvements. What We’re Looking For Education Required: High School Diploma or GED Required: Proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries Certification Options (CMA/CCMA/RMA/Other): CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) If not currently certified, must obtain certification or registration by end of the sixth month of hire and sign an education agreement. Experience: Previous work in a medical office is preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA, or CCMA; required.
