Join us on our journey towards sustainable growth, creating real impact on patients and society!/ppJob Description:/ppThe Senior Director, Global Partnering, Oncology will be part of the Global Partnering team and report directly to the VP, Head of Oncology Global Partnering. The Senior Director will support the VP in all Business Development (BD) related operations in Oncology and lead all activities related to evaluating and negotiating BD transactions./ppThe primary purpose of the role is to ensure BD opportunities and transactions are aligned with Ipsens overall corporate strategy as well as needs of the Oncology franchise. The Senior Director will maintain close working relationships with Ipsens Oncology External Innovation (EI) colleagues and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment in strategy, process, and execution on BD opportunities. The Senior Director will contribute to establishing a robust reputation for Ipsen in BD and increase Ipsens visibility of partner-of-choice for Oncology globally./ph3Main Responsibilities Technical Competencies/h3ulliProvide support to the VP to optimize deal flow (process and execution), BD strategy and visibility of Ipsen as partner-of-choice in Oncology/liliManage due diligence, and structure and negotiate transactions, including licensing deals, product acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and MAs/liliCollaborate with the VP (where relevant) and stakeholder functions (including but not limited to: country/regional leadership, Commercial Franchises, RD, IP, Finance, Legal, Manufacturing and Corporate Strategy) to: ulli(a) Establish BD strategy goals for Oncology that are aligned with overall business/corporate strategy and objectives/lili(b) Ensure high-quality due diligence/lili(c) Execute value-add deals/li/ul/liliEnsure transactions support Ipsens strategy in Oncology for assets across all stages of development and commercialization/marketing/liliLead multi-functional due diligence for robust assessment of opportunities to support decision-making in the BD process, and contracting/negotiations/liliEnsure appropriate documentation of due diligence findings, and review and approval by respective functions/liliLead (or co-lead with VP where relevant) contract negotiations and work cross-functionally with colleagues from all stakeholder functions (including but not limited to Legal, IP, Finance, RD, Commercial and Manufacturing) to ensure high-quality contracts are negotiated and executed to protect future interests of Ipsens business/liliProvide concise and accurate updates and documentation to VP and senior management (and committees involving members from the Board of Directors when necessary) for deal review and decision-making/liliContribute to business strategy through analysis of evolving market, RD/competitive landscape, Ipsens needs and objectives in Oncology as well as ensuring alignment with Ipsens overall corporate strategy and objectives/liliDeliver accurate and timely updates, and provide customized support to the VP and Ipsens Global Partnering and External Innovation (GPEI) leadership for regular review and decision making at senior management level/liliInterface with key stakeholder functions within Ipsen as well as with executives outside Ipsen including individuals at C-level roles./liliMaintain professional network with external companies and advisers including attendance at appropriate conferences and other industry events/li/ulh3Knowledge Experience/h3pKnowledge Experience (essential):/pulli10+ years of experience within biopharma in a business development, partnering and/or MA function/liliStrong track record of executing BD deals including collaborations, in/out licensing, partnerships, MA, etc./liliExperience with BD deals in both the RD and Commercial settings, ideally in oncology/liliExceptional awareness of the biopharma ecosystem including the deal-making landscape/liliOutstanding time management, administrative and communication skills including presenting and collaborating with executive and board level/liliOncology experience is preferred but open to other therapeutic areas/liliIdeally in-house BD/Transactions experience but will consider applicants from investment banking, private equity, management consulting, etc./liliA deal sheet will be asked as part of the recruitment and interview process/li/ulpEducation / Certifications (essential):/pulliBA/BS is required; ideally in both scientific (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, etc.) and business disciplines/liliMBA, PhD, MS or other advanced degree is desirable/li/ulpLanguage(s) (essential):/pulliEnglish is required/liliFrench would be a plus/li/ulpThe annual base salary range for this position is $217,500 - $310,000/ppThis job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentives program.
