Radar Threat Systems- Senior Level Engineer

Job Description Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC. (AMS) is seeking a talented Electrical or Computer Engineer to join our diverse team in Huntsville, AL, to create unique solutions for complex problems. AMS provides responsive, cost-effective engineering and scientific solutions ranging from air and missile defense technologies, command and control, radar systems, seekers, modeling & simulation, and prototype hardware development and testing. Position Description All-source intelligence analysis of foreign threat systems with a focus on multi-function phased-array radars and surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems. Analysis involves system performance assessments and design postulation of major subsystems including phased array antennas, transmitters and receivers, radar signal processors and computer algorithms/logic. Threat system model development to match intelligence assessments, including waveform scheduling, correlation/tracking and signal processing. Write technical briefings, papers and reports to reflect intelligence analysis and assessments of foreign threat systems. Ensure foreign threat systems are accurately characterized and modeled in technical databases such as the Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming Database (EWIRDB). Experience and Skills Basic Qualifications (required) Excellent math skills and fundamentals in electromagnetics, signals and systems, digital signal processing, and controls. Apply skills to modeling, radar/weapons systems analysis, algorithm development, RF hardware, HWIL support, and/or field-testing support. Comfortable interacting with and presenting to customers, coworkers and management regularly. Knowledge of modeling radar functions, threats, timeline, weapon system, clutter, EA/EP; radar/weapons systems analysis including probability of detection, waveform analysis, probability of intercept, defended area; algorithm development including detection processes, waveform selection, signal processing, clutter and EA mitigation, adaptive beamforming, target identification; RF hardware including transmitters, exciters, antennas, multi-channel receivers, high-bandwidth receivers, SOTA processors, and RF lab equipment development and integration, and software development and test. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Preferred Skills/Abilities Experience with MATLAB and Python is a plus. Good people skills and desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited university and a minimum of ten years of applicable experience. Travel Requirements Must be able to travel up to 10% of the year. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities. RF lab equipment development and integration, and software development and test. Field test support includes travel, radar equipment setup and teardown, and light lifting (up to 30 or 40 lbs.). Security Requirements Citizenship: Must be a US only citizen.
