Garver is seeking a Process Mechanical Team Leader to join our Water Design Center (WDC) team in Harlingen, TX. As part of Garver’s growing Water Design Centers, you’ll lead a team responsible for producing designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, and other ancillary infrastructure associated with water and wastewater projects company wide. You’ll be engaged in design calculations, hydraulic modeling, facility layouts, equipment selections, managing and coordinating support discipline activities, coordinating with equipment vendors and regulatory agencies, and performing quality reviews. You’ll travel occasionally for business development purposes and when a project requires a site assessment as well as support during construction.Day to day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Design water and wastewater treatment processesEvaluate, select, and implement water and wastewater equipmentLead the design pump stations, lift stations, and pump selectionLead hydraulic analyses of water and wastewater treatment plantsLead conceptual level designs for water and wastewater treatment systemsLead detailed designs, including contract documents (plans and specifications)Oversee the development of construction drawings and 3D modelsSupport construction projectsCoordinate with other support discipline activities, regional Garver offices, and regulatory and funding agenciesSupport regional teams with treatment related business development activitiesDevelop scope, schedule, level of effort, and fees for projectsPlan and monitor budgetsEnsure quality program compliance and delivery of work products that adhere to Garver standardizationManage and mentor teamsAbout Garver's Water Infrastructure Design Center:The Water Infrastructure Design Center is a knowledge-based hub that excels in highly technical, multi-discipline water and wastewater designs for locations all across Garver’s footprint. Having a focused team with in-person collaboration using the latest 3D and 4D BIM/Civil3D/MicroStation software leads to more efficient delivery, shorter design schedules, and lower change order percentages.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, biosystems/agricultural, or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited programProfessional Engineer Licensure (PE)8 or more years of direct design experience with municipal water and wastewater facilitiesTwo or more years of experience leading project teamsExperience overseeing facility designs, including detailed plans and specifications for major projectsUnderstanding of water and wastewater treatment plant systems in a facility-wide environmentExperience performing process equipment evaluation, sizing, and cost estimationExperience with hydraulic modeling softwarePreferred Skills and AttributesMaster’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, biosystems/agricultural, or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited programCertification as a Pump Systems Assessment ProfessionalProfessional Engineer Licensure (PE) in several states, including TX, OK, NM, AZ, CO10 years or more of experience with municipal water and wastewater related designFive or more years of experience leading project teamsRelationships with municipal clients in Garver’s footprintA record of active participation in professional organizations such as AWWA, WEF, WRFGrow With UsGarver offers its employees programs such as company-paid professional memberships, company support for industry licenses and continuing education opportunities that foster a progressive atmosphere.
