Company Description College of Southern Idaho (CSI) is a comprehensive two-year community college offering transfer degrees, professional technical programs, dual credit, and Tech Prep options for high school students, along with online courses. The college also provides community education and workforce training opportunities that serve a broad range of learners and local employers. CSI is located in Twin Falls, Idaho, with four off-campus centers that extend access to education across the region. Role Description The Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Twin Falls, ID. This position provides academic advising to current and prospective students, helping them understand program requirements, plan course schedules, and develop realistic educational and career pathways. The Advisor meets regularly with students to review progress, assist with registration and degree planning, and connect them with campus resources such as tutoring, financial aid, and support services. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate student records, communicating policy and program updates, collaborating with faculty and staff to support student success, and participating in orientation or outreach activities. The Advisor is expected to foster an inclusive, student-centered environment and uphold institutional policies and standards. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong advising and student support skills, including the ability to guide educational planning, interpret academic policies, and help students set and achieve goals. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening, clear written communication, and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Candidates should possess organizational and administrative skills, such as maintaining accurate records, managing multiple student caseloads, and using college systems and databases efficiently. Candidates should possess problem-solving and critical thinking skills, including the ability to identify student challenges, recommend solutions, and make appropriate referrals to campus resources. Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, social sciences, or a related field is preferred; experience in academic advising, student services, or higher education is highly beneficial. Familiarity with community college environments, transfer pathways, and career and technical education programs is an asset.
