Senior Business Analyst Required Skills & Experience• 7–10 years of Business Analyst experience, ideally within complex enterprise technology environments. Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), including user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog management. Strong SQL skills with the ability to query and analyze data to support requirements and business decisions. Proven experience with requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation. Strong experience developing user stories and clear, testable acceptance criteria. Experience supporting Agile software development teams and working closely with Product Owners, developers, and QA. Strong understanding of Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, and UAT. Experience analyzing business processes, system dependencies, integrations, APIs, and data flows from a functional perspective. Understanding of data definitions, mappings, reconciliation, and data quality. Experience supporting testing and UAT, including defining business scenarios and expected outcomes. Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills, including the ability to lead workshops and working sessions. Ability to translate between business requirements and technical teams. Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. Nice to Have Skills & Experience• Previous experience within the gas, utilities, or energy industry. Job DescriptionThe Senior Business Analyst will support the Gas Agile Delivery Team (ADT) responsible for the current retail gas system stack, with a primary focus on back-office and billing applications. This individual will partner closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, developers, and QA teams to gather and translate requirements, support system enhancements, and assist with ongoing Keep the Lights On initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Lead requirements gathering and analysis for enhancements to retail gas back-office and billing systems. Facilitate stakeholder discussions to uncover business needs and translate them into clear functional and technical requirements. Develop detailed user stories and acceptance criteria within Azure DevOps (ADO). Partner closely with Product Owners, developers, architects, and QA throughout the Agile delivery lifecycle. Analyze current-state and future-state business processes, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and recommend improvements. Understand and document system dependencies, integrations, APIs, data flows, and data mappings at a functional level. Use SQL to analyze and validate data, requirements, and business outcomes. Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, testing, and UAT. Assist QA and business users with test scenarios, expected outcomes, defect clarification, and UAT. Create clear process flows, requirements documentation, decision logs, diagrams, and executive-level summaries. Support ongoing keep the lights on activities while helping deliver enhancements to existing systems.
