Behavioral Health Technician

Job Title: Behavioral/Mental Health Tech Job Type: PT Schedule: Nights Job Summary Mental Health Tech – Provides direct patient care under nursing supervision and helps maintain a safe therapeutic environment. Reporting Reports to: Senior Behavioral Health Director Qualifications & Requirements Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. License: CNA Preferred. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 45 days of hire; Handle with Care (HWC) within 45 days of hire. Required Skills & Responsibilities Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Assists patients with activities of daily living. Provides or assists with direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions. Observes and records patient behavior and activities; reports changes to nursing staff and suggests modifications to treatment plan. Provides crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety. Review and comply with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant Company and Division policies and procedures.
