Full-Time Dietary Cook AM/PM

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintains high standards for quality food production, follows standardized recipes, and prepares correct amounts of food products needed according to the written menu or by using approved menu substitutions. The AM and PM cook keeps leftovers to an extreme minimum by using production sheets and portion control. The AM and PM cook is responsible for serving meals on time or having the food products on the steamtable for the Dietary Assistant to serve in a timely manner. They are responsible for food handling in accordance to established rules and sanitary regulations according to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is in charge of the Dietary Department in the absence of the Dietary Director or the Cook Supervisor. Complies with established policies & procedures. Assists in maintaining dietary department in a safe and sanitary condition. Prepares meals according to planned menus and production sheets. Prepares breakfast as a short order cook according to resident breakfast orders. Follow standardized recipes and special diet orders. Prepares food for therapeutic diets according to planned menus and production sheets. The A.M. and P.M. Cook will check special diet trays to ensure they are correct. Assists in serving meals. Serves foods according to portion control, using appropriate scoops. Assists in daily and scheduled cleaning duties. Checks food and supplies for next meal. May be needed in purchasing food and supplies. May be needed for checking and storing incoming food and supplies. May be needed for orientating and instructing personnel. At time of orientating new employee's other tasks may be assigned per Food Service Director or Cook Supervisor. Reports equipment needs and supplies to the Dietary Director. Evaluates and prepares new recipes for possible inclusions in Recipe File. Attends in-service training classes. Others as directed by the Food Service Director or Cook Supervisor. Assist with passing trays in dining room if needed. Responsible for scheduling needs in absence of Food Service Director or Cook Supervisor. Reports any staffing, work performance concerns of Dietary Staff to Food Service Director or Cook Supervisor.

Wages are very competitive and will pay for experience! Sign-on bonus up to $2,000. Hours: 30 - 35 hours per week Shifts: AM shift - 6:00 am - 11:45 am PM Shift - 10:45 am - 5:45 pm.
