- The Electrical Technician II will build, rework, test, repair, and install wiring harnesses on vehicles and the bench.
- The role will follow instructions from blueprints, bill of materials (BOM), schematics, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
- The role will follow procedures to set up and run quality checks on various wiring harnesses.
- Electrical Technician II will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.
- Assemble, install, perform functional and safety tests and reverse engineer on wiring using hand tools and proper assembly techniques by following work instructions (prints, cut sheets, sample harnesses).
- Install lights, brackets, and electrical hardware to special test boxes, automotive components, and vehicles according to specifications.
- Test wiring and components for correct operation using schematic and diagnostic equipment.
- Perform wiring reworks and repairs on bench and vehicle, crimp and solder, de-pin terminal, create basic schematics and reverse engineer harnesses.
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
- Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4+ years of electrical work experience.
- Certificate in Automotive Electrical Technology or related.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience installing components on circuit boards.
- Experience with automotive powertrain systems or electric battery systems.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of automotive systems and ability to crimp and solder wires.
- Proficient with hand and power tools and able to operate vehicle lifts.
- Proficient electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills and the ability to understand electronic schematics and electronic documentation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Able to work overtime and weekends.
- Broad knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors, etc.) and related components, component materials & fasteners.
