Locations are designed around the specific needs of older adults, offering longer appointments, shorter wait times, specialized exam rooms, convenient access to specialists, and critical on-site services such as pharmacies. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Medical Assistant role based at the CenterWell Senior Primary Care location in Decatur, GA. The Medical Assistant supports clinicians by preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, documenting patient histories, and assisting with examinations and procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, updating and maintaining medical records, handling basic clinical tasks such as injections and specimen collection under supervision, and ensuring exam rooms are stocked and sanitized. The role also involves communicating with patients and families, reinforcing care plans, assisting with medication refills and follow-up appointments, and collaborating closely with the Care Team to deliver respectful, senior-focused care. The Medical Assistant helps create a welcoming, efficient environment that prioritizes safety, comfort, and high-quality service for older adult patients. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in Medical Assisting, including vital signs, exam preparation, and support for routine procedures. Strong understanding of Medical Terminology to accurately document and communicate clinical information. Experience working in a Medical Office setting, including patient scheduling, rooming, and coordination of daily workflows. Solid Patient Care skills, with a focus on seniors, including compassionate communication, safety awareness, and attention to comfort. Ability to manage and update Medical Records using electronic health record (EHR) systems while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification or registration as a Medical Assistant is preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a clinical environment.
