Pest Control Technician Supervisor

Spring-Green is in need of a full-time, year-round Pest Control Technician Supervisor based out of our Plainfield, IL location. Position Summary Under the direction of the Director of Operations, provides daily operational support and oversight in leading Pest Service Professionals to ensure that pest control production goals are met, service vehicles are optimally equipped and equipment is properly maintained. Ensures operational and customer service issues are addressed in a timely manner. Acts with a high degree of independent judgement to resolve service issues, including performing service calls and providing phone consultations. This position will be heavily focused on in-field training of new and existing Pest Service Professionals across multiple Superior Lawns branch locations. This includes training in safe and proper practices associated with all aspects of delivering the company’s integrated pest management services to residential and commercial properties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coach the team of Pest Service Professionals in a way that encourages, engages, and inspires them to put forth their best efforts and maximize their contributions. Lead by example with integrity to ensure that all team members remain focused on fulfilling their roles in providing the customer with service that fulfills Spring-Green’s brand promise of We CARE for your home like it’s our own. Train the team of Pest Service Professionals on how to execute upon the company’s sales and marketing strategies within the parameters of their positions in order to help each branch location exceed its pest control sales targets. Communicate the importance of sales and revenue building to all Pest Service Professional team members. Serve as the pest control department’s field expert, overseeing and/or handling more complex pest issues such as Initial Visits and Service Calls that may require a heightened level of expertise, as well as routine service on an as needed basis. Support branch training and evaluation of pest control service staff members through assigning and documenting training activities and performing ongoing field evaluations of Pest Service Professionals. Educate the team of Pest Service Professionals in order to position them to successfully acquire any applicable licensing that may be necessary, preferred, or beneficial with respect to their duties. Assist managers in maintaining accurate pest control inventory records in order to provide accurate and timely reports to the Accounting Department. Conduct routine, ongoing training with team members at each of the COF branch locations with respect to integrated pest management issues. Time will be spent at each location providing ongoing mentorship and training to existing Pest Service Professionals as well as initial training for all new Pest Service Professionals. Time spent at each location will vary from week to week based on training needs and opportunity. Inspect all pest control service vehicles in all locations monthly to ensure proper vehicle maintenance protocols are being adhered to, and all vehicles are in safe, working condition. Ensure all pest control service vehicles are equipped with the necessary products, tools, application equipment, personal protective equipment, product labels, safety data sheets, locks, and all other requirements. Report any deficiencies to branch management and ensure any deficiencies are promptly addressed. Utilize equipment and materials in an efficient manner to maximize output and efficiency and train all Pest Service Professionals on the same. Ensure that all uniforms, vehicles, equipment, and peripheral materials are in compliance with the Spring-Green Operating Manual’s appearance standards. Supervisory Responsibilities Oversight, management, and mentorship of between 2 and 10 Pest Service Professionals. Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies, professional code, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training; planning, assigning and directing work; evaluating job performance; coaching, counseling, rewarding, and disciplining; complaint resolution. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college course work in management, or related field helpful but not required. Minimum three years of experience in performing supervisory responsibilities. Three or more years of experience in pest control or related field preferred. Experience in an operational field preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid driver’s license required with good driving record meeting insurability standards. General Standards State pesticide license required; Certified Pest Control Operator / Applicator license required; Mosquito license preferred. Certified entomologist preferred.
