Position Summary: The Outpatient Nurse provides direct patient care under the direction of Manager/Director, Outpatient services for adults, adolescents, children and geriatric patients with psychiatric and substance abuse conditions or House Supervisor. Responsible for using the Nursing process to effectively manage the Plan of Care for each patient based on appropriate standards, policies and procedures. Management of each patient also includes appropriately and effectively delegating patient care duties to other members of the nursing team in order to assure optimal patient outcomes. The Registered Nurse is also responsible for continuing his/her own professional development to enhance practice and the profession of Nursing. Actively participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary team of the unit and performs duties as assigned. Hours: Varied Weekdays, Varied Day Shift Hours

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensure and Certification: Current LVN or RN licensure that is valid in the State of Texas.
• Experience: Two years of inpatient psychiatric nursing and/or medical/surgical experience, preferred.
