About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00-19:00) Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification required ACLS certification required Must-Have: Ability to provide routine and complex care. Ability to manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Experience in addressing complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Description: The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Nursing care is provided utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. The nurse makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Medications and treatments are administered following appropriate protocols while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness. Details of patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given are documented. The nurse assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers, identifying issues and resources. This position may involve caring for patients in a telemetry setting, primarily focusing on cardiac care. On-call requirements do not apply to this position. There is a weekend requirement of every other weekend. The nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 5:1 to 6:1, depending on staffing.
