Plasma Processing Technician

Responsibilities Accurately and timely sample, test, ship, and store plasma collected from donors. Collect plasma samples and move plasma units to freezer to ensure product quality in compliance with SOPs. Ensure plasma units are properly stored according to SOPs, handling unsuitable units and samples as required. Verify unit labeling, ensuring the pre‑printed label matches the dynamic label. Utilize sterile technique to draw samples and use heat sealer to assure sterility and quality of plasma unit samples. Pack and ship samples and units in accordance with SOPs and center procedures; prepare shipping and unit disposal documentation. Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures; immediately inform appropriate personnel if equipment is not functioning properly and record variances. Conduct daily calibration of equipment according to SOPs. Accurately record donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the SOPs. Understand and follow policies and procedures associated with hyper‑immune programs at the center, if applicable. Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms are available. Follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures; promote safety in all actions. Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information. Be cross‑trained in other areas to meet business needs. Bilingual skills may be required if the organization determines they are needed. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of three (3) months experience in a laboratory or warehouse environment preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to perform basic math calculations. Working Conditions Physical and mental requirements: Understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions; follow basic instructions and guidelines. Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation. Tasks may be performed while standing and walking up to 100% of the time. Requires the ability to reach, bend, kneel and have high levels of manual dexterity. May require lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds. Fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions. Frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood‑borne pathogens. Required to wear personal protective equipment.
