Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Provide education and instructions to patients and/or responsible persons regarding respiratory disease processes, intervention procedures, and discharge planning
• Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care treatments
• Provide respiratory care as ordered by physician, maintaining ongoing communication with medical and nursing staff
• Share clinical knowledge with staff and students and serve as a role model for clinical practice
• Accept reassignment to other units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Active Illinois Respiratory Therapist License required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working within a multidisciplinary care team in an acute care setting
• Experience providing patient and family education related to respiratory conditions and discharge planning
