Fire Protection Designer

We are seeking a Fire Protection Designer to prepare fire sprinkler system designs, shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and installation documents in compliance with NFPA standards, the International Building Code (IBC), and local fire codes. The ideal candidate will collaborate with project managers, field teams, architects, engineers, and other MEP disciplines to deliver high-quality fire protection system designs for commercial and industrial projects. Key Responsibilities Prepare fire sprinkler shop drawings and installation plans. Perform hydraulic calculations and develop design narratives. Create and maintain 3D coordinated models for fire protection systems. Coordinate sprinkler layouts with structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) disciplines. Prepare material cut sheets, fabrication drawings, and installation documentation. Support project managers and field installation teams throughout project execution. Ensure all designs comply with NFPA standards, IBC, and local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements. Review project specifications, drawings, and design requirements. Assist with design revisions and resolve field-related design issues. Qualifications 1–3+ years of fire sprinkler system design experience. Knowledge of: Wet Pipe Systems Dry Pipe Systems Pre-Action Systems Manual & Automatic Standpipe Systems Water Storage Tanks Experience with: AutoSPRINK AutoCAD Navisworks Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) NICET Certification preferred but not required. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Understanding of NFPA fire protection codes and standards. Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other MEP disciplines. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Experience preparing coordinated fire protection system layouts for commercial or industrial projects. #J-18808-Ljbffr
