Manager Patient Care Services - NICU Cardiac and Complex Surgical Unit

Organization: Neonatal Services Job Summary Be part of a cutting‑edge neonatal program delivering life‑saving care to the smallest patients. As the Middle Tennessee Regional Perinatal Center, our level IV NICU includes 131 beds and is growing. The Patient Care Services Manager will oversee the Cardiac and Complex Surgical Unit—a 44‑bed specialty unit—and lead the neonatal vascular access and PICC services across the children’s hospital. Key Responsibilities Collaborate to operationalize the mission, strategic plan, budgets, resource allocation, operational plans, and policies for the Perinatal Center, hospitals and Vanderbilt Clinic. Prepare annual operating and capital budgets following established guidelines and benchmark data. Develop and monitor the implementation of an area‑specific quality plan linked to organizational goals. Provide fiscal accountability, maintain quality and regulatory standards, and ensure patient/family‑centered care and service. Lead staff engagement, program development, and team management while integrating with the clinical enterprise. Technical Capabilities Compliance (Intermediate): Demonstrate knowledge of rules and regulations, interpret ambiguous situations, and train others. Leadership (Intermediate): Motivate, inspire, communicate positively, and accomplish results through influence and coaching. People Management (Intermediate): Resolve conflicts, provide counseling, give timely feedback, and create a positive work climate. Operations Planning (Intermediate): Forecast complex resource needs, prioritize tasks, schedule activities, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously. Business Results (Novice): Develop measures to attain business results, track progress, and respond to customer needs. Quality Management (Novice): Analyze and improve work processes, establish and monitor standards, and seek creative solutions. Qualifications Active and unrestricted RN license. MSN or MHA or higher required. 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in neonatal intensive care. Registered Nurse licensure – other categories acceptable. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
