Advanced Nutrition AideFairview is looking for an Advanced Nutrition Aide to join our team at our University of MN Medical Center East Bank Campus in Minneapolis, MN. The Advanced Nutrition Aide guides customers through room service process by phone and communicates with hospital staff regarding diet order information.Location: Fairview East Bank University Hospital, located in MinneapolisHours: 29 hours biweeklySchedule: evening shiftWeek 1:Tuesday - CC16 - 3:45pm-6:45pmWednesday - CC14 - 3:45pm-6:45pmThursday - CC12 - 3:00pm-6:30pmFriday - CC12 - 3:00pm-6:30pmWeek 2:Tuesday - CC16 - 3:45pm-6:45pmWednesday - CC14 - 3:45pm-6:45pmThursday - CC14 - 3:45pm-6:45pmSaturday - CC12 - 3:00pm-6:30pmSunday - CC12 - 3:00pm-6:30pmSchedule may change based on the needs of the operation.ResponsibilitiesAbility to explain diet order to patient or staff.Knowledge of specific nutrients in food.Understanding of dietary needs with modified diets.Understanding of culturally specific food choices.Ability to identify foods in relation to patient allergies.Ability to determine appropriate food choices for therapeutic diets.Required QualificationsSix months customer service experience and six months office equipment/computer experience. (Confirmed completion of formal training in office/computer software/hardware may substitute for the office/computer experience.)Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, in EnglishProblem-solving, critical thinking and negotiation/persuasion skillsBasic math skillsAbility to provide consistent outstanding customer serviceSuccessful completion with a passing grade of 80% of the Diet Comprehension Training Program within four weeksFree of any corrective action for six monthsPreferred QualificationsCollege level nutrition or hospitality related coursework completion greater than or equal to the second year of a four-year degree program orA graduate of a two-year programPrevious experience in a healthcare food service department, working in the diet office or directly with patients to provide the appropriate meal to meet their diet specificationsPrevious experience in the front of house operations of healthcare, hotels restaurants or country clubsPrevious experience as a switch board operator, telemarketer or customer service technicianBenefit OverviewFairview offers a generous benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, PTO/vacation and Safe and Sick Time, tuition reimbursement, retirement and more!Compensation DisclaimerThe posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting.
