Labor & Employment Associate

$225K-$260K/year Our well-regarded business law firm client is seeking a junior associate (1-3 years) for its labor and employment team in Dallas. The role blends transactional and litigation work, with a focus on restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and employment counseling. Excellent opportunity for significant direct client communication. Ideal candidate experience includes: Transactional/Advisory Work: Spotting employment-related red flags during M&A due diligence, researching employment law questions, and drafting or updating employment agreements, offer letters, and employee handbooks. Litigation: Managing discovery, drafting motions and briefs, and supporting cases involving non-competes, non-solicitation agreements, and trade secret disputes. Prior experience defending or prosecuting individual employment claims is a plus but not required. Administrative Agency Work: Handling EEOC charges - drafting responses, position statements, and replies to agency information requests. Academic Background: A strong record from law school and undergraduate studies. Communication Skills: Sharp legal writing ability and comfort maintaining regular, direct communication with clients, providing clear, practical guidance and updates on case status and strategy.
