Trust & Estate Planning Associate - Tampa

Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking an associate with 1–3 years of trust and estate planning experience to join the Estate Planning Practice Group in our Tampa office. (In lieu of the traditional 1–3 years of practice experience, we are open to considering candidates joining directly from an accredited LLM in Taxation program.) Foley’s Estate Planning attorneys provide a full range of sophisticated estate planning, trust administration, and wealth management advice to individuals, businesses, and charitable organizations. Responsibilities Draft complex estate planning documents and business succession planning documents for high‑net‑worth individuals. Draft intricate charitable giving documents. Counsel clients on income, gift, estate, and generation‑skipping transfer tax planning. Assist with probate proceedings for taxable and non‑taxable estates. Prepare federal gift and estate tax returns. Support tax‑exempt organization planning. Qualifications Strong academic credentials; must hold a JD from an ABA‑accredited law school. Active member in good standing of the Florida Bar. Experience in drafting estate planning documents, estate and trust administration, estate and gift tax planning, and business succession planning. Strong drafting, communication, and interpersonal skills; positive attitude and an exceptional work ethic. The expected salary range for this position is between $225,000 – $260,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job‑related factors permitted by law.
