Job Type: W2 Contract (6 Months)

Compensation: $60 - $70 per hour W2

About the Role
Our client, a leading organization in the healthcare and insurance industry, is seeking a Jira Administrator to support and enhance their enterprise Agile tooling environment. This role is responsible for administering, standardizing, and evolving Jira Cloud across multiple business units, ensuring consistency, scalability, and seamless integration with enterprise systems.


The Jira Administrator will partner closely with Scrum Masters, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to support Agile delivery, manage enhancement requests, and implement governance and best practices across the organization. This position requires a strategic mindset to balance team-specific needs with enterprise-wide standards while maintaining a stable and efficient Jira environment.



Job Description
The Jira Administrator will play a key role in aligning configurations, managing access, and establishing project standards across multiple environments. This individual will handle a high volume of enhancement and integration requests, evaluate new Jira features and marketplace applications, and ensure solutions meet business needs without disrupting production systems.


This role also involves establishing governance frameworks and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guide Jira usage and configuration changes. Collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and technical stakeholders is essential to ensure alignment with organizational goals and best practices.



Responsibilities:

• Analyze business and technical requirements to determine feasibility, timelines, and system compatibility
• Design and document frameworks for system integrations and technical standard updates
• Develop and support infrastructure interactions to ensure system security, stability, and accessibility
• Participate in enterprise-wide initiatives, including system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process flows and system diagrams
• Provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams
• Monitor industry trends and evaluate emerging technologies to improve system capabilities
• Support systems operations, including participation in on-call rotation as needed
• Contribute to governance processes including architecture, change management, risk, resiliency, incident, and asset management
• Establish and maintain Jira governance, configurations, and standardization practices across the organization

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional experience in Jira administration
• Cloud Service Provider Certification (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure design, implementation, and administration principles
• Experience supporting Agile teams and tools, including Jira Cloud configuration and management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and business teams
• Experience working with system governance frameworks and engineering processes
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience establishing and implementing Jira governance frameworks

Preferred Qualifications:

• Atlassian certifications (e.g., Jira Administrator, ACP) - strong plus
• Experience supporting teams newer to Agile methodologies
• Background working in healthcare or regulated environments (e.g., Blue Cross, similar organizations)
• Experience supporting scaling Agile teams or enterprise Jira environments
