Equal Opportunity & Compliance Investigator Location: Atlanta, Georgia Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 300580 Job Summary Support the Institute’s efforts to provide a safe, respectful environment for all campus community members by conducting and managing investigations of harassment based on protected categories, ADA/504 grievances, and Title IX/sexual misconduct complaints received by the Office of Equal Opportunity, Compliance, and Conflict Management. Plan and conduct investigations, document findings, and present results in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and requirements. Responsibilities Conduct timely, objective, and thorough investigations of discrimination, discriminatory harassment, retaliation, and other claims, including sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and retaliation involving faculty, staff, and students. Manage all aspects of the investigation process: develop a plan; identify relevant parties, witnesses, and evidence; interview parties and witnesses in compliance with the appropriate investigative process; identify University and related policies and conduct codes; write clear, thorough, and unbiased investigative reports. Continuously identify and integrate best practices for managing and conducting Title IX and sexual misconduct investigations by staying abreast of current developments in the field. Maintain accurate and thorough records and notes to ensure a well‑documented investigative process; ensure timely record keeping and communications through a case‑management system. Collaborate with on‑ and off‑campus resources, including law enforcement and victim services, in resolving complaints; work with department leadership to ensure policies and responses are consistent with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for faculty, staff, and students. Participate in hearings and other administrative processes related to the adjudication and resolution of complaints as necessary. Assist in identifying trends and patterns of disparate impact and treatment across campus. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Four to five years of job‑related experience. Preferred Qualifications Title IX and/or Civil Rights certifications. Juris Doctor Degree. Five or more years of job‑related experience. Proposed Salary $74,966 – $100,000, commensurate with education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to understand the needs of the Institute and to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff; proficient use of office and specialized computer applications. Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, case law, and guidance related to identity‑based discrimination, harassment, and bias, including Title II, Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, and ADEA. Skills in formal investigation and interview techniques, data collection, report drafting, planning, and communication; excellent judgment; strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to handle confidential situations with compassion, sensitivity, and diplomacy; ability to act impartially at all times.
