Medication Technicians administer prescribed medication to patients and provide support to nurses and healthcare professionals. A short list of Medication Technician duties include offering medication to patients , performing basic medical check-ups, providing patient care, updating records, and filling in forms.

Responsibilities:
1. Administering prescribed medications to patients and maintains related medical records under the supervision of a nurse.
2. General duties include verifying identity of the resident receiving medication and record the name of the drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms or records.
3. Present medication to the resident and observe ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified procedures.
4. Taking vital signs or observing the resident to detect responses to specified types of medications and prepares report or notifies designated personnel of unexpected reactions.
5. Documenting the reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.
6. May receive supply of ordered medications and apportion, mix, or assemble drugs for administration to resident.
7. May record and restock medication inventories.
8. The Caregiver/Med Tech will provide each assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the residents assessment and care plan.

Requirements:
1.Must have at least 1 year of prior experience working in the healthcare field.
2. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
3. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
4. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
5. 1 year of experience in a care facility.
6. Highschool diploma/GED
7. Current CMT license and CPR, First Aid Certification.
8. Recent TB test results (PPD)
9. Valid drivers license; with reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance.
10. Able to pass statewide criminal/DMV background check required.
