DescriptionGPI has an immediate opening for a Highway Engineering Project Manager based out of our Columbia, MD office to help further the growth and development of GPI’s transportation design presence in the region. We are looking for an individual ready to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplined team of engineers in a growing office environment. GPI has numerous interesting and challenging projects involving all types of roadway, bridge, intersection, and trail designs. For more information, visit: Responsibilities:Deliver projects for clients such as Maryland State Highway Administration, Delaware Department of Transportation, and local counties/municipalitiesBuild effective client relationships by working collaboratively with the client & multi-discipline teams.Prepare and complete engineering designs that are responsive to project needs.Complete tasks within the assigned schedule and budget.Develop project design criteria, calculations, details, and estimates.Mentor staff in the advancement of transportation design.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.10+ years' experience in all aspects of Transportation Engineering preferred.PE licensure in Maryland.Experience in all aspects of roadway design.Working knowledge of CAD software and roadway modeling softwareLeadership, communication, and organizational skills.RequirementsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final considerationRead, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English languageBasic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team membersAble to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working GPI offers excellent benefits, including a 401(k) plan, ESOP, medical/dental/vision plans, paid time off, and more.
