Safety Engineer
Eurofins Agroscience Services North Carolina
Eurofins seeks a Staff Safety Engineer with expertise in IEC 60601-1 and related medical device standards to perform product safety testing, support engineering projects, and help build the Austin safety business. The role requires 8-10 years of product safety experience and the ability to work independently on complex compliance projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct product safety testing including leakage current, dielectric, flammability, and mechanical hazard assessments
- Provide technical expertise and engineering rationale to support other engineers and sales staff
- Prepare project quotes and scoping for product safety compliance work
- Lead preliminary design reviews on and off site and review test plans and technical reports
- Support department manager with accreditation maintenance, internal/external audits, and quality initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
- 8 to 10 years of product safety engineering experience
- Working knowledge of IEC 60601-1, IEC 62368-1, and IEC 61010-1 standards
- Ability to travel up to 30% and visit client sites locally
- Valid driver's license
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
