Quality Manager - Oncology & Haematology The post holder will be responsible for implementing, maintaining and developing the quality management system across Clinical Haematology and Oncology. This will include ensuring that quality processes support compliance with JACIE, BSI, HTA and other relevant regulatory, professional and Trust requirements. The role will involve providing specialist quality management advice to colleagues and acting as a key point of contact for quality-related issues across the Directorate. A major part of the role will be the creation, review and maintenance of policies, standard operating procedures, templates, quality plans and controlled documents. The post holder will support the effective use of quality management systems, including document control and Q-Pulse administration, ensuring that information is accurate, accessible, up to date and aligned to required standards. They will also help develop a documentation structure that is practical for staff to use and supports safe, consistent service delivery. The Quality Manager will plan, prepare and deliver training in quality principles and quality management processes for clinical, scientific, administrative and other relevant staff. This will include supporting competency assessment where required and helping colleagues understand their responsibilities in relation to documentation, audit, incidents, corrective actions and continuous improvement. The role will require the post holder to communicate complex information clearly and confidently to staff at all levels. The post holder will oversee internal and external audit activity, including the development of audit programmes and schedules, the collation and analysis of quality data, and the monitoring of corrective and preventive actions. They will support root cause analysis, investigation of quality problems, incidents, complaints and deviations, ensuring that actions are identified, allocated, completed and reviewed effectively. They will also provide reports for governance meetings, management quality reviews and service meetings as required. Within the Haematology Stem Cell Transplant Service, the post holder will support regulatory compliance, accreditation, registration and licensure requirements. This will include liaising with internal teams and external bodies, supporting responses to inspections, overseeing reports to governing organisations, monitoring service level agreements and ensuring that training records, SOPs, forms and policies are maintained in line with regulatory expectations. The role will also involve supporting the management of Datix reports, serious adverse events or reactions where relevant, and quality risks within the transplant pathway. The successful candidate will contribute to quality meetings, clinical governance discussions, strategic planning and service development. They will work collaboratively with managers, consultants, nurses, scientists, administrators and external partners to identify areas for improvement and help ensure that services continue to meet the needs of patients, donors, service users and staff. They will keep up to date with changes in standards, legislation and service requirements, and support the implementation of improvements that strengthen quality, safety and assurance across Oncology and Haematology.
