Associate Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its team on either a full-time or part-time basis. The practice primarily provides care for cats and dogs and would be happy to support a veterinarian who wishes to bring additional clinical interests into the hospital. The hospital combines comprehensive general practice medicine with a range of integrative and holistic services, providing veterinarians with the opportunity to practise across conventional medicine, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and complementary therapies.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical and surgical care, including wellness and preventative medicine, sick patient care, internal medicine, dentistry, surgery, diagnostics, pain management, dermatology, nutritional counselling, behaviour management, and end-of-life care. The hospital also provides integrative services including acupuncture, Eastern and integrative medicine, Chinese and Western herbal medicine, Chinese food therapy, laser therapy, ozone therapy, microbiome studies, faecal transplants, Alpha-Stim therapy, flower essences, nutraceuticals, and supplements. Doctors typically see appointments from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with surgeries performed during the morning on designated surgery days. Annual appointments are typically 15 minutes, standard appointments around 30 minutes, and more involved cases may be given up to 45 minutes. The schedule is intentionally not heavily booked. Doctors generally work a four-day week, with no weekend, on-call, or after-hours responsibilities. The position is open to new graduates as well as experienced veterinarians, and the practice has previously provided mentorship to new graduates.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Full-time is considered 32 hours or more per week, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available. The hospital is equipped with digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, comprehensive in-house diagnostics, an in-house pharmacy, therapeutic laser equipment, an ozone machine, surgical suites, anesthetic machines, dental machines, electronic medical records, and an AI medical scribe. Services include dentistry, general surgery, spay and neuter procedures, microchipping, vaccinations, life-stage wellness examinations, nutritional counselling, behaviour management, parasite prevention, ultrasound, onsite diagnostics, holistic and integrative medicine, puppy and kitten through senior care, pain management, dermatology, internal medicine, office-hour emergency and sick patient care, end-of-life consultations and services, acupuncture, Chinese and Western herbal medicine, Chinese food therapy, laser therapy, Alpha-Stim therapy, flower essences, nutraceuticals and supplements, cryotherapy for small growth removal, ozone therapy, microbiome studies, and faecal transplants.

Team
The hospital currently has one practicing veterinarian supported by a part-time temporary veterinarian. Doctors are typically supported at approximately a 2:1 technician-to-doctor ratio. The wider support team includes one Certified Veterinary Technician, two veterinary assistants, and four receptionists who are also able to assist clinically when needed.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
