Required Skills & Competencies Technical Skills: Proficiency in multiple student tracking software systems including Banner, Dual Enroll, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Canvas, and Salesforce, with hands‑on experience managing a classroom, presenting to high school students and administrative teams, and tracking students’ progress toward completion. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and provide data‑driven solutions for our high school partners to assist students through their academic journey with Ivy Tech. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly to diverse audiences. Problem‑Solving: Ability to think critically, make decisions independently, and solve complex problems in a timely manner. Teamwork: Proven experience in collaborating effectively with diverse teams to achieve common goals. Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and track progress in a fast‑paced environment. Leadership Skills: Ability to inspire, guide, and assist team members toward a common goal while fostering a positive work culture. Preferred Additional Skills Experience in student advising and/or high school classroom management (teaching, counseling, or support). Key Responsibilities Advise high school students about pathways to academic degrees and transfer opportunities with Ivy Tech by creating individual academic plans and degree trackers. Advise students in clarifying personal and academic career goals using appropriate student development, human development, and student learning theories. Coordinate the Accelerated Associates Degree (ASAP) program: providing student communication, calendar planning, event coordination, data tracking, and technical support to assist in the maintenance of the program. Manage assigned schools’ dual credit and dual enrollment courses from application through registration, working with teachers and students to facilitate Dual Enroll applications, Knowledge Assessment, and course registration. Maintain ongoing communication and good public relations with high school students, parents, and school personnel by coordinating school visits and other recruiting and information activities. Collaborate with high school counselors, teachers, and school personnel to address student needs/issues when appropriate. Maintain, update, and distribute dual credit, dual enrollment, and credential attainment resource materials to college and high school personnel. Monitor academic progress of assigned dual credit students, implementing communication plans, regular meetings, interventions, assessments, and data collection and analysis. Manage student connection caseload to promote retention, persistence, and student success through proactive interactions and interventions. Promote dual credit and dual enrollment opportunities to high school staff, students, and parents, providing information about the College and relevant programs. Record and maintain student records through multiple student management tools. Assist students in gaining a basic understanding of the College’s registration process and prerequisites needed before each semester for both dual credit and dual enrollment students. Demonstrate a strong commitment to student development and success through advocacy, positive attitude, adaptability, approachability, problem‑solving, and support. Maintain current knowledge of the institution’s academic programs, policies, curriculum, and student policies. Participate and assist in the coordination of on‑campus and off‑campus events that support all stakeholders and K-14 program initiatives, including evening or weekend activities. Serve on committees as assigned. Education & Experience While formal education or certifications may be beneficial, what we need are candidates who can demonstrate the practical skills and experience necessary to excel in this role. A proven track record of student guidance will be prioritized. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience. Demonstrated ability to implement processes aligned with student‑focused goals. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Good public relations skills and self‑motivation. Must possess the required knowledge and skills of computers and related software applications for program planning and implementation, including record‑keeping. Must be able to travel throughout Central Indiana (Marion, Boone, and Hendricks) in a mobile office environment and have reliable internet access. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in higher education or with high school‑age youth. Master’s degree. Why Join Us?
