Computer Numerical Control Machinist

Role Description This is a full-time, on‑site Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist role based in Warren, MI. The CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Responsibilities include selecting and installing tooling, loading programs, performing machine offsets and adjustments, and inspecting parts using measuring instruments to ensure they meet quality standards. The role involves performing routine maintenance on machinery, identifying and resolving machining issues, and collaborating with engineers, programmers, and quality personnel to optimize processes. The CNC Machinist will also document production activities, follow safety and 5S practices, and support continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor. Qualifications Proficiency in Machine Operation and Machinery setup, including starting, stopping, and monitoring CNC equipment safely and efficiently. Hands‑on Machining experience with CNC equipment, including interpreting blueprints and working from work instructions or process sheets. Experience with Milling operations, including setting up and running CNC mills to produce tight‑tolerance components. Strong Quality Control skills, including use of calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify part conformity. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications. Familiarity with basic CNC programming concepts and adjusting offsets (G‑code experience is a plus). Understanding of machining difficult-to-machine materials and maintaining tight tolerances in a production environment. Commitment to workplace safety, adherence to standard operating procedures, and participation in continuous improvement. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Prior experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment; defense or automotive experience is beneficial.
