Cash Application Specialist
Location: Fort Collins, CO (Hybrid schedule)
Pay: $28/hour + benefits
Type: 6-month Contract-to-Hire (will convert permanently)
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cash Applications Specialist to support the Accounts Receivable function for a growing organization in the manufacturing industry. This role is responsible for processing and applying customer payments, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Post and apply customer payments (ACH, wire, check, lockbox) in a timely manner
- Perform daily cash application and account reconciliations
- Research and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, and discrepancies
- Maintain accurate customer account records
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing and payment issues
- Assist with month-end close activities and reporting
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in cash applications, payment posting, or Accounts Receivable
- Experience working in a high-volume transaction environment, preferably within large or mid-sized organizations handling multi-million-dollar revenue streams
- Proven ability to manage and apply large volumes of cash receipts with accuracy and efficiency
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
