About the OpportunityOur client, a leader in the healthcare industry, is seeking a Senior Monitoring Engineer to support and enhance enterprise monitoring, observability, and alerting solutions across a large and complex technology environment. This role will partner closely with infrastructure, networking, application, and engineering teams to design and implement monitoring strategies that improve system reliability, reduce downtime, and strengthen incident response capabilities.The ideal candidate will bring deep experience with enterprise monitoring platforms, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for building scalable observability solutions that support mission-critical operations.Project OverviewAs a Senior Monitoring Engineer, you will play a key role in improving visibility across critical healthcare systems, applications, infrastructure, databases, and networks. This position will focus on enhancing enterprise monitoring capabilities, implementing modern observability tools, and developing proactive solutions that help identify issues before they impact patient care or business operations.You will help drive monitoring standardization efforts, support platform modernization initiatives, and collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure monitoring and alerting are built into all new technology deployments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, and support enterprise monitoring and alerting solutions across infrastructure, applications, databases, and networksDevelop monitoring strategies that improve system availability, reliability, and performanceImplement and maintain dashboards that provide operational visibility across multiple platforms and teamsEnsure accurate collection, retention, and reporting of metrics for alerting, analysis, and trend reportingCollaborate with engineering teams to integrate monitoring requirements into new deployments and technology initiativesBuild and maintain reporting solutions that provide insights into operational health and incident trendsSupport incident management processes by ensuring monitoring and alerting systems align with response protocolsIdentify recurring issues and develop proactive solutions to improve system stabilityMaintain platform health through upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and vendor engagement when necessaryAssist in developing automation, scripting, and self-healing capabilities within the environmentMentor and provide technical guidance to fellow engineers and team membersKey Initiatives & Business ImpactImprove enterprise-wide observability and monitoring maturityIncrease proactive detection of issues before they impact patient careStrengthen incident response and operational awareness across IT teamsEnhance visibility into mission-critical healthcare systems and infrastructureDrive standardization of monitoring tools, processes, and reportingSupport the reliability and availability of systems serving approximately 2.4 million patientsContribute to the continued growth and modernization of a large healthcare technology environmentRequired QualificationsExperience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise monitoring and observability solutionsStrong knowledge of network, infrastructure, application, and systems monitoringExperience deploying new monitoring tools and improving enterprise-wide observability practicesExperience with log aggregation or SIEM platforms such as Splunk, LogRhythm, Graylog, ELK, or similar solutionsStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsExperience working with incident management and operational response processesAbility to communicate effectively with technical teams and leadership stakeholdersExperience creating dashboards, reporting solutions, and performance metricsStrong documentation and process improvement experiencePreferred QualificationsExperience with LogicMonitor, ThousandEyes, BigPanda, ServiceNow AIOps, or similar observability platformsExperience supporting tools such as Dynatrace, PagerDuty, VictorOps, SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, Datadog, AppDynamics, or New RelicScripting and automation experienceExperience developing self-healing capabilities and operational automationHealthcare industry experience is a plusWork EnvironmentFull-time permanent opportunityOnsite position in Sioux Falls, SDMonday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PMTwo-step interview process consisting of a hiring manager interview followed by a technical interviewOpportunity to support one of the largest rural healthcare systems in the United States within a highly impactful and mission-driven environmentThis is an excellent opportunity for a Senior-level monitoring professional who wants to influence enterprise observability strategy, improve operational excellence, and support technology systems that directly impact patient care and healthcare outcomes.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $110000.00/yr.Sanford offers an attractive benefits package for qualifying full-time and part-time employees.
