Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to join our team at KI Sawyer Elementary. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for young children with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of early childhood development and special education practices, and will work collaboratively with families, staff, and specialists to support each child's growth and learning. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student. Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development. Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to each child's education. Provide direct instruction in academic and life skills, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources. Maintain accurate records of student progress and documentation for IEP meetings and reports. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education and early childhood practices. Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities and promote an inclusive classroom culture. Supervise and support classroom aides and volunteers in their interactions with students. Engage in ongoing communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field. Valid teaching certification in Early Childhood Special Education. Experience working with young children with special needs preferred. Strong knowledge of early childhood development and special education regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and specialists. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
