Senior Transportation Project EngineerBETA is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Project Engineer to join our team. This position will play a key role in performing highway design, developing contract plans and documents and mentoring junior staff. This position will also collaborate across our multiple service areas, assist with business development, project pursuits, and coordinate projects with our clients.Responsibilities:Perform engineering design, review, and preparation of contract documentsProvide technical oversight mentoring junior staffPrepare and review contract documents and reportsCollaborate with design team members and provide technical supportProvide client service and assist with proposal pursuitsPreferred location is BETA's Lincoln office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to request working remotely up to 2 days per week.Growth Opportunities:BETA encourages and promotes employee advancement and career developmentLeads to potential advancement to more senior technical positions and project managementRequirementsRequired Experience/Skills:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or related field5 to 10 years of related engineering experience in highway design, stormwater management, ADA compliance, and roadway construction practicesProficient with AutoCAD Civil3D and Microstation OpenRoads DesignerExperience with MUTCD, AASHTO, MassDOT design requirementsExperience with RIDEM and CRMC permitting regulationsMust be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspectionsMust be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 poundsMust be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of timeMust have a valid driver's license and reliable transportationPreferred Experience/Skills:Professional Engineer (PE) LicenseAbout BETA:BETA Group, Inc. is a New England based consultant engineering firm and leader in the fields of transportation, traffic, structural, civil/site, and water/wastewater engineering; landscape architecture; urban design and planning; GIS/asset management; environmental sciences and permitting; and construction services.
