Substitute Custodian

Job Summary Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton School District is seeking caring, outgoing, and transformative Substitute Custodians. The ideal candidate is open to day or evening shifts on an on-call basis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Vacuum carpets Clean restrooms Dust entryways and halls Empty garbage cans Clean windows Clean classroom furniture Clean and/or change light bulbs Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to create an environment of respect and trust Evidence of successful experiences with students and coworkers Commitment to and evidence of continual improvement Education/Certification Requirements High School diploma or equivalent Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, frequently requires standing, walking, sitting and using hands to finger, handle or feel and occasionally requires stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling and lifting; work requires close vision and distance vision; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions, exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment and Exposure to bodily fluids; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic). This position will be filled on the basis of the experience, competency, and qualifications of the applicant and the needs of the District.
