Position Summary: The Quality Manager plays a key leadership role within the organization, ensuring that all company operations and output align with ISO 9001:2015 standards and internal quality objectives. This position requires hands-on quality inspection, audit coordination, cross-functional collaboration, and the development and enforcement of quality control procedures. The ideal candidate is someone that has experience assisting a company obtain their first ISO 9001:2015 certification and then help the company maintain the certification. The Manager must be a proactive and organized individual with a strong mechanical background, exceptional attention to detail, and proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment. This position is an exempt position. Standard hours for the position are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. This position is 100% in person. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the Quality Department, inclusive of completing first article inspections.
- Create a detailed Scope of Work outlining what steps DGS needs to complete to obtain ISO Certification.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards. Manage and conduct internal and external audits from start to finish.
- Collaborate with Production to establish, maintain, and improve documented workflows and procedures for operational efficiency.
- Conduct inspections of components to ensure accuracy and reliability.Partner with Sales, Engineering, Service, and Production teams to integrate quality at every level of the organization.
- Draft, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and departmental flowcharts to enhance documentation and compliance.
- Be available for extended hours during audits or production surges—this position requires a flexible approach to scheduling.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and audit processes.
- Hands-on experience in a machine shop or similar manufacturing environment is essential.
- Skilled in planning and executing audits, as well as maintaining audit readiness year-round.
- Proficient in writing and updating SOPs, process maps, and related documentation.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Degree or technical training in Engineering preferred.
- Proven experience in managing and developing team members within a quality-driven department.
- Hands-On Quality Management: Lead the Quality Department
- ISO 9001:2015 Compliance: Ensure the company meets all ISO 9001:2015 standards, including handling ISO audits from inception to completion and conducting internal and external audits.
- Process Development & Improvement: Assist the production team in setting up and maintaining documented processes to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Inspection & Calibration: Perform detailed inspections of products and calibrate portable tool kits used in pharmaceutical service applications.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Service, and Production teams to ensure quality is integrated throughout all processes.
- SOPs & Flow Charts: Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and departmental flowcharts to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- ISO 9001:2015 Expertise – In-depth knowledge of requirements, implementation, and audits.
- Hands-On Mechanical Skills – Experience in a machine shop environment is required.
- Audit Management – Ability to lead internal and external audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Process Documentation – Skilled in writing and maintaining SOPs and process flow charts.
- Technical Proficiency – Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Engineering Background – A degree or relevant training in Engineering is helpful.
- Leadership Abilities – Experience managing employees and fostering a team-oriented environment.
- This is not a traditional desk job - the ideal candidate must be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and stepping in when needed and walking throughout production floor and office (i.e. up and down steps 20+ times daily)
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, bend, walk, squat for full work day.
- Generally works indoors, may work outside dealing with extreme heat >85 degrees, extreme cold <32 degrees.
- The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- The employee may occasionally handle objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Walk up and down stairs frequently.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The employee will adhere to the company’s safety policy and, at all times, will use all required Personal Protective Equipment required of position. (I.e., Masks, Gloves, Back Support Belt, etc.)
- The employee will represent the Company in a positive, professional manner with fellow employees, customers, suppliers and thegeneral public that DGS serves.
- The employee will encourage and maintain teamwork throughout the company and will communicate all pertinent information in a timely and effective manner.

- Bachelor of Science in Engineering and/or technical field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in quality management preferably in manufacturing or industrial products
- Engineering experience/background is a plus
- Working knowledge of gaskets, sealing materials, or related mechanical products is a plus
- Proficiency with obtaining and maintaining ISO 9001:2015 certification
