SUMMARY

The Field Service Technician is responsible for the independent assembly, commissioning, inspection, repair, and troubleshooting of our power and data supply systems, both domestically and internationally.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Up to 80% domestic and international travel; travel over weekends, holidays, evenings/nights may be required. Frequent interface with customers, vendors, and contractors. Support scheduling and coordinating participation at the site for installation inspection and commissioning. Coordinate internally for timely responses to customer inquiries. Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment onsite and remotely. Repair equipment onsite for warranty and non‑warranty claims. Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations. Implement pre‑commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines. Travel to customer sites for final commissioning, demonstrating equipment functions per specifications to obtain acceptance. Support the project team in clearing and signing off punch list items. Participate in project and construction meetings as required. Prepare and provide technical training to end‑user operators and maintenance personnel. Provide on‑site troubleshooting and be available for subsequent technical queries. Utilize data acquisition system software to collect equipment analysis data. Provide quotations for field support. Coordinate all site visit details and travel arrangements independently. Provide direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering. Write and review all field service reports for accuracy and clarity. Advise the Development Group on product improvements and potential opportunities. Review technical publications and stay abreast of industry developments. Provide technical reports to engineering and external customers. Support engineering with inputs on design and technical documentation. Operate aerial lifts and similar machinery to access equipment at heights. Uphold Quality and EHS policies and Core Values. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport and a TWIC credential for travel into and out of the United States.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Applicable B.A. or B.S. from a four‑year college or university; or a 2‑year associate degree from a technical school; and/or a combination of education and experience. Comprehensive experience with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity is required. Siemens and ABB platform experience is highly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluent spoken English; ability to write reports and procedure manuals in English; ability to present information and respond to questions. Bilingual and/or multilingual candidates are desired.

MATH AND REASONING SKILLS

Ability to work with probability, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions; convert between metric and standard units.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Standing, walking, sitting, using hands. Occasionally reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. Regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
