This role supports a diverse set of engineering efforts, including large-scale platform infrastructure that powers critical development workflows, as well as application and service development teams delivering consumer-facing experiences.You will play a key role in shaping how we deliver software by driving alignment, influencing decisions, and ensuring successful execution across globally distributed teams. You will operate with a high degree of ownership, working closely with engineering, product management, QA, and operations to deliver high-impact solutions across a wide range of technical domains.ResponsibilitiesOwn and lead complex, cross-team programs from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment on scope, priorities, and outcomesDrive decision-making and prioritization, balancing business impact, technical constraints, and delivery timelinesTranslate business goals into clear technical requirements and execution plans, partnering closely with engineering teamsIdentify risks early and lead mitigation efforts, ensuring programs stay on track across dependencies and stakeholdersFacilitate alignment across engineering, product, and partner teams, including influencing senior stakeholders when neededDrive clarity in ambiguous situations, helping teams converge on practical, scalable solutionsImprove program execution practices, introducing and refining processes, tools, and frameworks to increase efficiency and predictabilityProvide ongoing visibility into program health, including progress, risks, tradeoffs, and key milestonesMentor and guide teams on program management best practices, helping elevate execution maturity across the organizationQualificationsRequired5–7+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Program Management, or a related roleExperience leading complex, multi-team programs with interdependenciesPrior experience working as a Scrum Master, with a strong understanding of Agile ceremonies and team execution practicesBackground in software development or quality engineering, with demonstrated technical understanding of system design, testing, and delivery workflowsStrong understanding of software development processes and system architecture conceptsDemonstrated ability to drive alignment and influence decisions across multiple stakeholdersExperience working with globally distributed and cross-functional teamsOutstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadershipProven ability to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes in evolving environmentsAbility to manage programs across the full software development lifecycle, from concept through deploymentPreferedBachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experienceStrong experience applying Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), with the ability to adapt processes to fit complex programsDemonstrated success driving alignment across globally distributed and cross-cultural teamsAbility and willingness to travel as needed to collaborate with distributed teams and stakeholdersExperience improving or scaling program management processes, tooling, or team workflowsExperience influencing teams to improve performance, reliability, or delivery efficiencyWhat Success Looks LikeComplex programs are delivered predictably and efficiently, even across multiple teams and dependenciesTeams are aligned and focused, with clear priorities and minimal frictionRisks are identified early and addressed proactivelyStakeholders have confidence in program execution and decision-makingProcesses and tooling improve over time, increasing overall organizational efficiencyAt SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role is eligible for SIE’s top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products.
