Pediatric Dental Assistant – Full Time

San Antonio, TX | $24–$28/hour based on experience | Monday–Thursday

We’re looking for an experienced Pediatric Dental Assistant to join a growing, patient-focused pediatric dental practice in San Antonio, TX. Schedule

Monday–Thursday

Office hours include:

• Monday: 10:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Tuesday & Wednesday: 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
• Thursday: 12:00 PM–5:00 PM

What You’ll Do

As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, you’ll work closely with our doctors and treatment team to provide efficient, compassionate care for children of all ages, including patients with special needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist doctors with dental procedures while creating a positive and comfortable experience for young patients.
• Work closely with doctors and the treatment team to keep appointments organized, efficient, and patient-focused.
• Assist with restorative treatment, hygiene, nitrous, and sedation cases.
• Prepare patients before, during, and after appointments, including post-op instructions.
• Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures.
• Maintain organized, clean, and properly prepared operatories.
• Work alongside dedicated hygiene and treatment assistants to maintain consistency and strong teamwork.
• Assist with practice workflow and daily operations across both practice locations.
• Participate in general anesthesia/sedation days, including approximately 6–8 OR cases per month when applicable.
• Help create a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, cared for, and excited to return.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is an experienced Pediatric Dental Assistant who is confident working with children and understands the importance of both clinical excellence and exceptional patient care.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of dental assisting experience , with pediatric experience strongly preferred
• Current dental assisting credentials
• Nitrous certification required
• CPR & BLS certification preferred
• Pediatric dental experience is a plus
• Comfortable learning new technology, procedures, and pediatric workflows
• Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Warm, friendly, patient, and genuinely passionate about working with children
• Self-starter who takes initiative, works hard, and looks for ways to support the team
• Someone who wants to build a long-term career with a practice and become a valued member of the team
