Job Title

Registered Nurse – Telemetry / Post-Op (2 North Med-Surg)

Location

Fredericksburg, TX | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Med-Surg unit with a 1:6 patient ratio, including telemetry monitoring and post-operative care
• Perform daily weights, vital signs, intake/output monitoring, hourly rounding, and bedside reporting
• Administer and manage cardiac drips, heparin drips, CBI, phototherapy, IV starts, NGT, and foley care
• Operate unit equipment including IV pumps, PCA pumps, epidural pumps, Ambit pain pumps, wound vacs (KCI & Prevena), Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Doppler
• Independently manage patient admissions and discharges; document using Meditech Expanse (PCS) EMR
• Float to ICU as needed for Med-Surg overflow; adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Texas (or compact eligibility)
• Telemetry experience required — candidates without this will not be considered
• Post-operative care experience required — candidates without this will not be considered
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of RN experience
• PALS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Self-motivated, takes initiative, and demonstrates strong team-player qualities
