Pediatric Health Consultants, a well-established contract company that has been in business for over 40 years, is currently looking for an Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to work full and/or part-time in a school setting in Oakland County. Pediatric/school experience preferred.

Working under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, responsibilities include standardized test administration, carry out treatment plan and implementation, consultation, educating and working with other educational staff and parents, attendance at staff and parent meetings and IEPs/IFSPs as applicable.

Must be licensed to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in the State of Michigan.

Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement occupational therapy treatment plans and services
• Recommend and educate school staff on adaptive equipment (wheelchairs, leg braces, etc.)
• Record students activities, progress, and improvement
• Maintain educational records of all student care; fill and document for Medicaid billing as needed
• Assist and train educational staff
• Educate Student, Student's family, and educational staff (if needed) on special equipment, care, and/or needs

Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Requirements and Qualifications

• License to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of Michigan
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Adaptable, flexible, and able to make quick decisions when plans change
• Creative and innovative thinker and planner
• Encouraging to student and staff
