Registered Nurse (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Location: Charlottesville, VA Agency: Prime Staffing Pay: $2,109 per week Shift: Nights – 3 days × 12 hours Contract: 13 weeks Start Date: 5/26/2026 About the Position Seeking a qualified NICU RN for a 13‑week assignment in Charlottesville, VA. The role will be on nights (19:00‑07:00) in a 54‑bed NICU. Candidates must hold a valid VA license (pending license may be accepted if obtained by the Wednesday before start). COVID‑19 vaccination is not required; flu vaccination is required. Job Requirements & Qualifications BLS, NRP, and Dr. Brown’s Infant Driven Feeding Certificate (certification required at time of acceptance) Minimum 2 years of NICU experience; 3 years of experience achieving a 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratio at level III NICU Epic charting experience (required) Proficiency in Central Line/Implanted Line care, high‑frequency ventilation, IV vasopressors, chest tube management, neonatal dosage calculations, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), therapeutic hypothermia, tracheostomy care, umbilical artery/vein catheter care, and basic diagnostics (ABG, phlebotomy) Experience with NIPPV/NIMV, CPAP, BiPAP, and IV fluid management, including drip and titration Full‑time level III NICU experience (level IV preferred); floating to PICU or other units not permitted Valid state nursing license (or pending license accepted under conditions) Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care to neonates, infants, and high‑risk infants in the NICU Manage ventilators, central lines, and other critical neonatal equipment Assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures, PICC placements, umbilical line insertions, chest tube insertions, and post‑operative care Interpret ABG results and perform medication calculations and dosage adjustments Document patient care in Epic and maintain accurate charts Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other team members Adhere to all unit protocols, safety standards, and infection control measures Scheduling & Travel Shift: Nights – 3 × 12‑hour days per week Weekend coverage required Travel: 50‑mile radius; applicants must be willing to travel to the assigned unit RTO: Up to 40 hours per 13‑week contract; additional RTO not approved after acceptance Benefits & Policies Contract wages: $2,109 per week Includes full‑time benefits, a 36‑hour orientation, and required training modules (up to 16 hours non‑billable) Florida-based travel compliance: RRT travelers must have license in‑hand at submission Separation policy limits travel assignments to a maximum of 365 days per facility #J-18808-Ljbffr TravelNurseSource
