Love your job!Come join our Connectivity Automotive Applications team and help drive the development and adoption of our wireless microcontrollers for both Car Access, Wireless Battery Management Systems (WBMS) and Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS). As a RF Hardware Applications Engineer, you will be an integral part of our team leading the revolution of connectivity in automotive use cases, and specifically be involved in our team focused on Bluetooth Low Energy, Ultra-wideband (UWB) and our TI WBMS Protocol. We’re searching for an experienced hardware applications engineer who has the passion and excitement to grow in this position, innovate, and take an active role in supporting automotive customers as they design, ramp and manufacture their products with TI connectivity products inside. This position requires someone who enjoys working in an international environment and brings a positive “can do” attitude to their objectives.In this position you’ll work with closely with TI customers to determine their design challenges and partner with them on creating solutions, design optimization and improving their products. This can involve travelling to the customer and working together on-site to solve any issues and deliver presentations both in-house and onsite. You will spend hands-on time in a world-class RF lab tackling technical challenges and delivering innovative development solutions that support our products and drive revenue. Key responsibilities include:Answer customer questions and supporting design-in activities for released products. This includes:Forum and email questions from customersSchematic and Layout Review of customer applicationDebug of customer problems by re-creating issues in our evaluation boards and/or customer boardsOn-site support on customer boards as requiredPlan, design, develop and characterize RF development kits (LaunchPads), EVMs and RF reference designsTest and optimize RF performance on customer HW and reference designs in our high-end RF lab, including schematic and layout reviews of customer applicationElectromagnetic (EM) simulations and analyses of designs (balun, filtering, transmission lines, impedance matching)Develop and optimize RF PHYsBe a technical expert on RF/HW and provide technical support to the company's sales staff and customersDevelop technical documentation including application notes, user guides, design notes and white papers.Internal and customer training, through training events like FAE summits and TI Tech Days or written materials, like application notes, journal papers, or IEEE papers.Interface with various cross-functional teams (e.g. Designers, System Engineering, Software Engineering, Business)Establish key relationships with our customers and field teamTexas Instruments will not sponsor job applicants for visas or work authorization for this position.QualificationsMinimum requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, Computer Engineering, or related field3+ years of relevant engineering experienceExperience in applications support of wireless and embedded processing devicesSolid hardware and software debugging skillsStrong technical background, with the ability to produce high quality technical documentationPreferred qualifications: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experienceExperience in applications support of embedded & RF productsRF PCB design (Cadence, Altium)Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g. spectrum and network analyzer, load pull system, etc.) and simulation tools (e.g. ADS, Ansys, etc.),Regulatory & Compliance testing, experience with antenna design & EMC chamberKnowledge of Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, Ultra-wideband or proprietary wireless networks is an advantageSolid hardware and software debugging skillsEmbedded C or python programming skills is an advantageAny relevant experience working in the automotive industry with an OEM or Tier 1Any experience with battery management systems is an advantageKnowledge of Functional Safety, ISO 26262 is an advantageExcellent writing and communication skills in EnglishTime management skills and the ability to work towards a deadlineStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbout the organizationTI does not make recruiting or hiring decisions based on citizenship, immigration status or national origin.
