Structural Welders
Labor One is currently hiring structural welders in San Diego, CA at a shipyard. $160 per diem, if eligible.
Job requirements:
- Three years of experience in steel welding and flux core arc welding processes.
- Proficient in flat, vertical, overhead, and horizontal.
- Ceramic tape experience is required.
- Must comprehend written and verbal instructions (in English).
- Must be able to hear warning signals, read and comprehend safety instructions, regulations, and warnings.
- Must pass a background check, vision test, and drug test.
- Must be able to work any shift and overtime.
Test:
- FCAW Fillet weld plates:
- 2F 3F 4F (VT test)
- Steel backing butt joint 6X6 3/8" thick:
- 2G 3G 4G (VT and UT test)
- Butt joint with ceramic backing 12X8 " thick:
- 1G 2G 3G (VT and UT test)
- Simulation:
- Wraps 2F 3F 36" in length
- Diagonal 3F 4F 36" in length
- In and out corners 2F 4F 6"
- Water tight collar
- Air arc fillet welds (VT testing)
All butt joint testing takes a welder an average of 1-2 days. All simulation testing takes an average welder 1-2 days.
