As the most modern shipyard in North America, Irving Shipbuilding is defined by its pace and appetite for change. This will mean jumping right in, taking ownership, and leading the charge even if the way forward isn't always clear. Discover, synthesize, and analyze information from a variety of sources within JDI enterprise. Responsibilities will include eliciting and documenting the actual needs of stakeholders—which frequently involves investigating and clarifying their expressed desires—to determine underlying issues and causes.ResponsibilitiesBusiness analysis is performed on a variety of initiatives within an enterprise. Initiatives can be strategic, tactical, and operational. This environment will provide opportunity to work within the boundaries of a project or throughout enterprise evolution and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:Understanding customer demand versus IT supplyPerforming requirements elicitation & documentationBuilding use cases (definition and development) and developing test casesDocumenting business processesTranslating business process model to technical realizationUnderstanding key business data and qualityUnderstanding capability of analytics tools and enabling business to act from analytical insightManaging integrity, confidentiality, and security of all datasetsExpediting data analysis and reportingUnderstanding the risk tolerance/profile of the businessCollaborating with design and architectureQualificationsA University Degree in a related disciplineAt least 2 years work experience in a business environmentPreferably experience in an IT work environmentIntermediate or above level of Microsoft Office skills, with particular attention to ExcelWorking knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft PowerPointExperience with securely integrating external and internal systemsTechnically inclined, process oriented and driven by a natural curiosityHappy in an environment where you can work independently as well as collaborativelyAn information addict - learning new skills and software applications is second natureComfortable in a fast-paced work environment where solutions are not always clearly definedA practiced communicator with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsOrganized, analytical and business savvyWhite Belt CertificationBusiness Process Modeling, Blue Belt CertificationEntry Certification in Business Analysis (ECBA), Microsoft O365, Visio, TT Perform, Azure DevOps (ADO)Job InfoJob Identification 9085Job Category IT, Telecom & InternetJob Schedule Full timeLocations 35 Micmac Blvd, Dartmouth, NS, B3A 4Y8, CA
