Hospice NurseOur Hospice team at Duke HomeCare and Hospice delivers compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals and families during critical moments. In this evening shift role, you will support patients in home-based settings, helping ensure comfort, dignity, and high-quality care at the end of life.Schedule:Five 8 hour evening shifts (1 p.m.-9 p.m.), Monday to FridayIncentives & Total Rewards:Relocation Assistance: Up to $8,000 for eligible applicants.Commitment Bonus: Available for eligible applicants.Total Rewards: A comprehensive set of pay and benefits designed to support your well-being, professional growth, and work-life balance.How You Will Make An ImpactProvide professional hospice nursing care in home or alternate settings in accordance with North Carolina nursing regulations and agency standards.Assess patient conditions, manage symptoms, and communicate significant changes to physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.Educate patients and families on disease progression, medications, and end-of-life care to promote comfort and understanding.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, support discharge planning, and ensure quality outcomes.Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.What You Will NeedAssociate Degree or Diploma in Nursing required; BSN encouraged after two years of service.Current RN license in North Carolina or compact state.CPR certification (American Heart Association).Hospice experience required for this evening shift position.Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance coverage.Two years of med-surgical, critical care, home health, or hospice experience preferred.Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to work independently in home settings.
