Sr. Mechanical Systems Design EngineerCompany:The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) organization is seeking a Sr.Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, OK.Position Responsibilities:Directs the development and documentation of large scale, complex mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system designDevelops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effortInvestigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirementsServes as technical consultant for disposition, corrective actions and coordination with cross-functional groups to identify/implement solutions and drive strategic improvements relative to production processesWorks under consultative directionLead and provide technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems to establish the system designLead activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirementsLead the development, maintenance, or modification of system components' designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentationLead technical meetings and planning efforts, presenting technical information to wide range of audiencesManage supplier development, test, and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goalsPrioritize, delegate, track performance and documentation of analyses of fluid systems/mechanisms/landing gear/ordnance components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the designUsing a variety of media, clearly conveys information and ideas to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the messageSupport proposal preparation and new business development effortsTrain and coach othersWork under minimal direction.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement10+ years of experience with mechanical systems3+ years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverablesAbility to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higherExperience reading and interpreting engineering schematics, and specificationsKnowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines (e.g., design, test, software, technology, avionics).
